Tour Itinerary: Ijen Volcano Blue Fire & Sunrise Tour
23:00 - 23:30 (Midnight) Pick-up from your hotel in Banyuwangi and depart for Ijen Volcano by shared car.
01:30 Arrive at the Ijen parking area. Briefing session and time to relax before starting the hike.
02:00 Begin the hike to Ijen Volcano.
03:00 Reach the summit of Ijen and descend to the crater.
Important Notice: After the recent earthquake, the situation at the crater has become unstable. For safety, all tourists wishing to descend into the crater must strictly follow the guide’s instructions. If conditions permit, you may proceed to the bottom of the crater, but it’s important to note the following:
The descent is only allowed if the sulfur fumes are deemed safe, and if you are physically fit to handle the steep descent of 900 meters.
Tour participants should not have a fear of heights, asthma, or heart conditions.
Crater Activities:
Monitoring volcanic activity at Ijen, one of the world’s most active volcanoes.
Observing sulfur miners who still use traditional methods.
If you're lucky, you may witness the rare blue fire. However, note that the miners sometimes extinguish the blue flames to preserve sulfur mining productivity, and we cannot guarantee you will see it.
04:00 - 04:30 Begin the climb to the sunrise viewpoint.
05:00 Coffee break at the viewpoint. Your guide will prepare and serve hot coffee or tea for you to relax and enjoy the sunrise.
05:00 - 06:00 Enjoy the stunning sunrise and panoramic views of the Ijen crater, located 2,386 meters above sea level. This is your free time to take photos and listen to your guide's explanation of the history of Ijen Volcano.
06:00 Descend back to the parking area.
07:00 - 07:30 Take a moment to rest after the hike.
07:30 - 08:00 Depart and head back to Banyuwangi.
09:00 Arrive in Banyuwangi.
Note:
It may be that other participants join, this is not a private tour.
Every first Friday of the month Mount Ijen is closed.
Please to send us your Passport for Mount ijen ticket, and Health Certificate.
For pick up at Ketapang port or Banyuwangi Train Station should be ready at 23.00.
For Pickup and drop off at Licin area there will be additional charge IDR 150K per booking (not per person)
Prepare for long journey from bali area pickup and drop off option.
Blue fire is not guaranteed, if you are lucky you can get it.
Since last Ijen Earthquake on July 2024 all visitors are not allowed to go down to the crater (blue fire area) but allowed to see blue fire from 500m off limit from the crater (ijen rims)
